Marcos Gil is a composer, bass guitarist, and producer based in Brisbane, Australia.

After graduating from music school at the Argentinean Musicians Society (SAdeM, Buenos Aires, Argentina), Marcos began working as a session bassist in his hometown of Buenos Aires, recording and touring with a wide range of local artists. Parallel to his session work, Marcos started to make a name for himself as a producer and recording engineer which encouraged him to found Manitu recording studios in 2004.

During his years as producer and manager at Manitu Studios, he recorded and produced many albums in a wide variety of musical genres, while launching his career as a composer by writing music for advertising campaigns for the radio and television.

Marcos relocated to Sydney, Australia, in 2010 where he continued his work as a touring musician and bass guitar tutor. He co-wrote and recorded 3 albums with the Jazz Fusion outfit Danny John Trio which led to a tour to Los Angeles, Chicago, and San Antonio, USA, in 2014.

In 2015 Marcos obtained a Master’s certificate in Composition for Film and TV at the Berklee College of Music, and since then, he has focused on composing film-score music as well as his own works.

Marcos has scored independent documentaries and short films, and his compositions have been featured on all major Australian TV networks.
